Data Deletion

There are three ways to have your data deleted from Omni, depending on who you are.

1. You messaged a business through Messenger or Instagram

If you contacted a business that uses Omni over Facebook Messenger or Instagram, you can ask Meta to notify us to delete your data: open your Facebook settings, go to "Apps and Websites", find this app, and choose "Remove". Meta sends us a signed deletion request automatically — you don't need to contact us directly. We verify the request, locate every organization you've messaged through a connected Messenger or Instagram account, and erase your messages and contact details from each of them. You'll get a confirmation code and a link to check progress at /data-deletion/status.

2. You're a contact of a business using Omni

For any other channel (WhatsApp, email or website chat), contact the business you messaged directly — they control your data and can delete it from their inbox at any time. If you're not sure how to reach them, or they're unresponsive, email us at privacy@example.com with the business's name and the email, phone number or handle you messaged from, and we'll help coordinate deletion.

3. You run an organization on Omni

Customer organizations can export or delete a contact's data directly from Settings, or delete the entire organization's data by contacting support. This runs the same erasure process described above: message content and contact identities are removed; conversation and audit records are kept in anonymized form for reporting.

What "delete" means here

We remove message content and identifying contact details (name, email, phone, channel identities) from our live systems immediately. Conversation and message rows themselves are kept as anonymized placeholders so conversation counts and reporting stay consistent, and an audit trail records that the erasure happened (never the erased content itself). Encrypted backups age out and become permanently unreadable after 35 days.
